Prysmian’s Carlos Lopez to lead discussion panel at Connected Britain Awards
Prysmian Group is making its presence felt in the UK Telecoms market: a major sponsorship of Connected Britain this summer will see Telecom Business Unit Director Carlos Lopez participating in a panel discussion on 18 June focusing on the Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review (FTIR).
“We are at a critical point in the roll-out of communications technology” summarises Lopez. “UK policy allowed us to be amongst the leading nations when it came to broadband access, but we are woefully behind the curve when it comes to full fibre delivery.
“It is great to see the Government’s commitment to the rapid implementation of full fibre connectivity and to the deployment of 5G. Incentives such as the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme are encouraging innovation and give an indication of the potential impact of Government intervention on the development of 21st century communications.”
The debate on FTIR is sure to be lively and Prysmian’s contribution will be particularly relevant, given its global experience of FTTH roll-out under a range of regulatory regimes across the globe.
Connected Britain takes place at the Business Design Centre, London, on 18 & 19 June 2019.
Carlos will be speaking in the Session: Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review: A game changer for rollouts? At 15.30 on 18 June.
